“I was the lead therapist at the San Diego Mesa College Student Health Services. In May 2012, during final exams week, a female student committed suicide on campus, jumping head-first from the fourth floor of the library atrium. Hundreds of students, faculty, and library staff witnessed the traumatic event. This violent act created chaotic trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in many of the people who saw it.
There were so many traumatized students and staff. I was at a loss to deal with the tremendous need then. I contacted Dr. Jean-Murat, a colleague of mine, for personal support. Within minutes of our first encounter, as she listened and laid her hands on me, my mind was instantly cleared of the negative thoughts. I left feeling like myself again. It was so amazing that I asked her to come to our campus to help.
She worked with the witnesses one by one for 10-15 minutes. The results were nothing short of miraculous. Just as she had done for me, she worked with the library staff, first responders, and other witnesses to clear them of their trauma. Everyone came out calm and balanced from the short session with her. It was hard to believe, but the results spoke for themselves.
I am writing this letter as a recommendation to First Responders and all others who are called to events where the victims have experienced trauma. It is also a personal and professional recommendation for Dr. Jean-Murat,
She will be a great asset to any agency, such as law enforcement, social services, medical establishments, and others that deal with trauma in their interactions with the public. I have no doubt they will benefit from her ability to heal in the moment following a disaster. Although this may deviate from traditional forms of therapy and trauma response, it is clearly effective and can assist in all aspects of recovery.”
"My brother-in-law was tragically gunned down right in front of our house, a very safe neighborhood, during a family gathering with about twenty of us present. The shock and trauma left us paralyzed—none of us could eat, sleep, or even step outside. We have three children, and although we took them to a therapist the next day, nothing seemed to alleviate our anguish.
Three days later, Dr. Carolle visited us. She spent time with each of us, listening with empathy and laying her hands on us individually. Just her presence seemed to lift the dark energy that had engulfed our home. It was as if she brought peace and comfort with her, soothing us like a healing procedure with no pain. That night, for the first time since the tragedy, everyone in our family slept soundly. Dr. Carolle’s compassionate guidance gave us the strength to face the painful tasks ahead—planning the funeral, speaking with detectives, and handling the media. It felt surreal as if the terrible event had happened somewhere distant. Thanks to her, we were able to begin moving forward."
“I would advise anyone to run – not walk – to you, Dr. Carolle. Your dedication, expertise, and compassionate guidance are phenomenal.”
“At age 36, I had been trying to get pregnant for a year and a half; I previously had a miscarriage in the first trimester. A friend suggested that I consult with Dr. Carolle before going through IVF. She quickly discovered that my unexplained infertility was due to my fear of getting pregnant and having another miscarriage. I realized that, indeed, not only had I not fully mourned that loss, but deep inside, I was also feeling guilty that I may have caused the miscarriage. I was afraid my body was going to fail me again, and I was afraid to go through another painful loss. After taking time to grieve, not long afterward, I conceived on my own and had a healthy pregnancy and baby.”
I lived with my grandparents, parents, and two younger siblings when I was nine. We suddenly heard six gunshots during a family gathering, with about twenty of us at our house. I was playing with my six-year-old sister at the time. Moments later, one of my uncles was found on the ground, screaming and bleeding. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead. It was pure chaos. The police, detectives, and media swarmed our house and wouldn’t leave us alone. We were terrified. We couldn’t sleep at night, consumed by the fear that the shooter might return. The very next day, my mother took us to a therapist, but it didn’t help. The therapist kept asking questions about what happened, which only made me more upset. Three days later, everything changed. The house's energy shifted when you entered the living room, where we were all gathered. I immediately felt safe and at peace. What stood out was that you didn’t bombard us with questions; instead, you told us you understood how we felt. You took the time to connect with us individually, which meant so much to me. People often forget that children suffer in these situations, too. When you laid your hands on my head and then touched some areas of my scalp, temples, and ears, I felt incredible comfort and safety. It lifted my spirits instantly. I can’t imagine what might have happened to our family if you hadn’t come that day. You took away our fear and gave us the courage to go outside again. Life resumed, almost as if nothing tragic had happened. Even now, I vividly remember that moment. It changed my perspective on death. I now see it as part of a divine cycle that happens when it’s meant to. My uncle’s time had come, and I’ve accepted that. I’m grateful to be alive and strive daily to make the most of that gift. I hope you continue helping families like ours. What you did made an enormous difference in our lives. We had been suffering for days, and you instantly changed everything, as if flipping a switch. Your words and actions are etched in my memory like it all happened yesterday.
“As a professional, I wanted to speak to the best – and the best is Dr. Carolle. With a laser-like focus and a sense of passion, she was able to cut through the fog and allow me to see with clarity. I learned how to alleviate my physical obstacles from emotional conflicts; she is a true beacon of light. As a psychotherapist, I always help people see their inner world as it relates to their outer world; I needed someone to help me be clearer and optimal for my clients. Not only did I find clarity, I felt a change in my energy and my world almost immediately. I laughed, I cried, and I am forever thankful for the gift that is, Dr. Carolle.”
“Thank you so much, Dr. Carolle! I am the man you helped the other night in San Diego, the “little boy” who watched his Dad leave for work for a week. Even though it wasn’t such a traumatic event at the time, you brought it to the surface that it was the first time I had felt anxiety. An anxiety that I have been carrying subconsciously all my life and into adulthood! Searching for a way to calm and soothe that “little boy”; in my case, it was with alcohol every time that anxiety floated into my subconscious. The tapping technique you showed me, talking with my Dad, and accepting him as a loving person in his own way have all been a tremendous help to me. Thank you again y que Dios la bendiga.”
“Thank you again for your guidance and support when I was stuck and confused about the direction I wanted to take in my career. You are gifted, brilliant, and an expert in what you do. You have certainly been a Godsend in my life, and I wish you much success. Blessings to you and yours always,”
“You are such an inspiration to women and people everywhere! I have been suffering for many years; in just one session, you KNEW what was wrong with me and gave me the tools that I needed. You helped give me my life back, and I’m eternally grateful to you for that and will be forever.”
